Colman Domingo, who plays Ali in the show told Digital Spy in November 2020 that they have not given an exact date on starting production, but is expected to begin in early 2021. It was about to start in 2020 but COVID-19 put a stop to it. Zendaya also weighed in on the production saying they were able to start in March 16, 2020 when the outbreak happened.
Season 2 Plot
About the second season, Domingo said that “it’s fantastic.” But he added that showrunner Sam Levinson might be changing the scripts to suit with the current times we’re living in. When asked if it will include COVID-19 and the Black Lives Matter movement, Domingo replied that it may include all of it and Sam is also very interested in holding a mirror to society and demonstrating everything.
Season one had Rue (Zendaya) going to her Narcotics Anonymous mentor Ali (Domingo) to get advice related to her relationship with Jules (Hunter Schafer), her family and school friends.
Season 2 details remain tightly guarded, but it’s titled ‘F**k Anyone Who’s Not A Sea Blob’ which seems highly intriguing and very confusing. But the actors say that the second season is going to be much darker and that the characters will be ending up in more intense situations.
