The movie will also mark Dwayne Johnson’s Netflix debut
Red Notice is an upcoming Netflix Original action-comedy-thriller written and directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber. This would be Thurber’s first Netflix film, as well as actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Gal Gadot. Johnson and Thurber had previously worked together on Central Intelligence and Skyscraper.
Before the movie’s rights were obtained by Netflix, there had been a bidding war between Universal and Legendary Pictures. When Universal hesitated on making it, Netflix came forward and agreed to fully fund the production.
Currently, the only information we have is that the release will be on 2021. Due to the star-studded cast, it won’t be surprising if the movie is set to be released on summer, making it Netflix’s summer blockbuster.

For catching the world’s most notorious art thief, INTERPOL puts out a Red Notice for all agents across the world to bring the thief to justice. A daring heist then brings together the FBI’s top profiler and two rival criminals into an uncanny partnership. Oh, and one of them happend to be THE art thief against whom the Red Notice has been issued.
The cast is why the movie is so highly anticipated. Johnson plays the FBI profiler and the criminals are played by Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds.
It might be a bit surprising to hear that Johnson hasn’t been in a Netflix original yet since he’s been on a lot of movies recently. Gal Gadot will be the world’s greatest art thief and Reynolds will play the world’s greatest con-man. Red Notice will be his second Netflix original after starring in 2019’s Six Underground.
So, will you be tuning into Netflix to watch Red Notice on opening day?
