The teenager started trending after she was featured in the singing competition’s advertisement
For those who are not aware who Claudia Conway is, she’s a TikTok star and has 1.7 million followers on the music and video sharing platform. She gained popularity after her stance against former US President Donald Trump, and openly speaking about her family life, which caused concern about her safety and calls and emails were made to the local authorities.

A career in music
The show’s Twitter later confirmed the news by sharing a 30-second clip of Conway’s audition. In the video, the teenager talks about being very nervous, but excited, before hearing the show’s host Ryan Seacrest saying in a voiceover: “She’s a social media sensation…but will she get a ticket to Hollywood?”
We see Conway introducing herself go judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, where she also said that her parents are high-profile political figures.
After the clip started trending on Twitter, Conway posted a video on TikTok saying that her audition will be airing on Sunday, February 14th. She added that she’s been singing her whole life, and she grew up in musical theatre and could play eight instruments. She also said that before anyone claims this is a publicity stunt, it’s not and music is her passion.
Relationship with family
Claudia first went viral in June when she voiced her support for the Black Lives Matter movement, distanced herself from her mother’s politics and voiced her dislike for Trump. She also said that she felt constantly “shut down” by her whole family over their political opinions.
Her parents soon forced her to delete her Twitter account after her controversial tweets before returning in June.
