Joker’s appearance was changed, but he looks more menacing than before

Zack Snyder released a still of Jared Leto’s Joker from the upcoming Justice League movie, and everyone was surprised to see him in a completely different look from his Suicide Squad version. Leto’s version of the Joker was the only portrayal of the clown prince of crime that caused a divide among the fans with some appreciating the mob boss Joker while the others have completely trashed it.

However, his Joker was still welcomed warmly when news of him appearing in the Snyder Cut was announced. We could put the warm reception in two ways: Either the joker is too beloved that fans would love as much as they can get or they didn’t fully get to see him in Suicide Squad as he had a brief role in the movie.

Joker sported a short, slicked back hairstyle in Suicide Squad, and it was shorter and more brighter than previous iterations and even Joaquin Phoenix’s one. In the new stills, we can see that his hair is darker and longer. Since he’s been locked up in some cell, it makes sense.

As for his makeup, it looked very little like makeup and more like he had an extremely pale look. His mouth scars weren’t also there, but had tattoos everywhere, including his face. But now he has a standard clown makeup and his forehead tattoo is missing.

Snyder teased that the scene will be Joker and Batman having a discussion on why Batman is who he is and does what he does, and Joker reminding him of the terror that’s about to come, and that they’re on the same side against this uncontrollable Superman. This could mean that Joker comes up in a Knightmare version and has an entirely different outlook on life now.
