The song gained huge attention back in the day as it was composed as a tribute for the South African anti-apartheid activist Steve Biko who was actually murdered in police custody back in 1977. The title of the song is suggestive enough that it was a way to voice their concern against the murder. Several Artists Have Joined Hands To Record The Protest Song!
The new version of this sensational song was first heard at the Peace Through Music: A Global Event for Social Justice back in December. The song was introduced by Steve Biko’s son Nkosinathi Biko. The money generated from the performance went to the organization Playing for Change Foundation.
