HBO Max discusses the rumoured Harry Potter Spinoff series – Not Happening for now
Will we be getting to see a live-action Harry once again?
There was talk last month on discussions about a live-action Harry Potter series for HBO Max. The Hollywood Reporter stated that the discussions about the project was in its very early stages and no writers or talent had been associated with it yet. Fans were interested nonetheless as the movie franchise was widely successful. And now, HBO/HBO Max chief content officer Casey Bloys has showed up to address the rumours.
What Bloys said
“There are no deals in place,” Bloys told Entertainment Weekly, before adding that there are no writers or anything else. Therefore he can’t add anything to what everybody’s already speculating. Bloys was then asked if he would personally want to see a Harry Potter series, to which he said it would be great but nothing was in the works.
Therefore, it would be pointless for fans to get excited about the franchise’s future, at least for now. There is still hope that we will be getting something from the Harry Potter universe.
The Fantastic Beasts franchise
The third Fantastic Beasts film is currently in the works and is set to release on July 15, 2022. The production is taking place in England, but it was reported last week that it got briefly shut down as someone tested positive to the coronavirus.
In a statement to Deadline, Warner Bros said that a team member tested positive. This was t the first delay that the film experienced. If the pandemic hadn’t happened, the shooting would already have been completed. When they were able to resume however, the climate was much colder, causing them to reschedule.
What do you think about the Harry Potter television adaptation? Will we be getting something by the end of this year?
