James Gunn Explains why The Batman is the DC movie he’s waiting for
Meanwhile the Gunn is preparing to roll out his soft reboot of Suicide Squad
James Gunn, the writer/director of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and the upcoming Suicide Squad had stated previously that The Batman is his most anticipated DC film, and has just said that his trust in the film’s quality is all due to the man behind the camera.
DC had previously made us sympathize with the Joker in the 2019 Todd Phillips movie. Now they’re making us fear the Batman in the upcoming Matt Reeves directorial.
A new Batman

Zack Snyder’s version of Batman (Ben Affleck) was a brute, and his first appearance was straight out of a nightmare, but he’s a seasoned veteran who had been fighting the endless war on crime for twenty years. But in The Batman, we see a young Bruce Wayne (Robert Pattinson) in his second year as the Batman, trying all he can to save a city that’s been corrupted to its core. He has just associated himself with Jim Gordon (Jeffrey Wright).
Gunn frequently interacts with fans on his social media and tries answering most of their questions as well. A fan asked why he called the movie “the most anticipated upcoming DC movie” and the director replied that Reeves is one of a handful of directors whose artistry can be seen in every film he’s directed.
Reeves’s career

Reeves had been in the industry since the mid-90s and had been on the radar since he made his award-winning student film at USC, Mr. Petrified Forest. Reeves had spent numerous years directing for television, and his first major break was Cloverfield, before moving onto the dark and gritty Planet of the Apes trilogy.
His handling with horror and thriller bodes really well for The Batman which was able to bring out the core elements of the movie from just the teaser. Therefore, Reeves will be able to bring the best out of the Caped Crusader.
