Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds has laid to rest all the rumours about him having a cameo in Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

Numerous speculations started coming after Vanity Fair reported on Monday that the ending for Snyder’s movie will feature a major cameo, which many are saying would be green lantern.

Reynolds had played Green Lantern/Hal Jordan in the 2011 movie, the character’s first live-action feature and set the record straight by replying to a user on twitter that he will not be returning for the role.

The actor replied with his usual humour, “It’s not me. But what a cool pirate flag to cameo as Hal. Maybe it’s another GL? But for me, the suit stays in the closet. I mean, computer.”

Reynolds had tweeted six months ago that he would “love to be in Zack Snyder’s Justice League movie.” His performance was the only good thing out of the failed movie. Oh, and his marriage to his co-star Blake Lively.

Snyder did include a Green Lantern in his movie. He was a lesser-known British actor named Sam Benjamin who claimed to have worked in the movie, but didn’t make the final cut. Here’s an interview of the actor:

As stated in this, Benjamin did indeed star as Hal Jordan, and he knew that his role would be cut as soon as Zack departed and Joss took over as director. But after news of Snyder’s cut was announced, Benjamin tweeted out in support, meaning we can expect to see him in the 4-hour version of the movie.

The movie is rated R and will be releasing on HBO Max on March 18.
