Sex and the City reboot: Chris Noth confirms that he will not be returning as Mr. Big
Noth was part of the series from 1998 to 2004 and also starred in both films
American actor Chris Noth, who attained fame for playing Carrie Bradshaw’s partner Mr. Big in Sex and the City recently addressed the rumours of his return as the show is officially getting rebooted.
As per E!News, the actor recently gave a sly reply to fans who expressed their grief of his absence in the upcoming HBO Max series, and one wrote, “why for heaven’s sake you are not playing my beloved Mr Big?? My heart is 💔,” to which the 66-year-old actor replied, “Everything changes – including announcements in the rags.”
Will he join?
When another user asked him to “not make us sad again” and to “reconsider,” he addressed a February 18 Page Six story and said that if Page Six says it, then rumours of him not returning would be true.
But many still haven’t given up hope and are waiting for him to announce sooner or later that he will be joining his former co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis once again. The three leading ladies are reportedly earning $1 million for each of the ten episodes, so this could be a huge gig for Noth as well, if he joins. His character, Mr Big was part of the show throughout and his marriage to Bradshaw (Parker) was highly anticipated.
Not the only absent face
Another primary cast member is missing as well – Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha Jones.
E!News reported that HBO Max Chief Content Officer Casey Bloys spoke about addressing her absence in the revival. Bloys said that the show will tell an honest story about being a woman in her 50s in New York, and will address the friendships in the way.
Production is expected to start in the spring.
