Shailene Woodley confirmed the news that she is indeed engaged to Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers during an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Monday Night. She even joked after the announcement that she never thought she would be marrying someone who “throws balls for a living.” See the interview below.

The 29-year-old said that they’ve been engaged for a while and that it’s not new news for them, so it got a little funny to see everyone freaking out about the news. “Yeah, we’ve been engaged for a while,” the actress said.
She also added that due to the ongoing pandemic, she has yet to watch her fiancé play a match since being able to attend sports stadiums is limited. She said that they met during the pandemic and all the stadiums he was playing in were closed. She also admitted that even before meeting Rodgers, 37, she had “never seen one football game before,” and said that sports were never really on her “radar.”
Woodley said that she doesn’t know him as a football guy, but as the need who wants to host Jeopardy! She said that he just happens to be very good at sports.
Engagement news
Their engagement news comes weeks after Rodgers made the surprise announcement during the virtual NFL Honors broadcast on February 6. He also gave a shout-out to Woodley’s co-star Jodie Foster who is starring with her in The Mauritanian.
As per PEOPLE, a source told them that they got engaged shortly after this reveal. Rodgers had previously been in a relationship with race car driver Danica Patrick for two years until their split in July last year.
