The dark superhero satire series by Amazon Prime will be back, and it’s going to be even better
Season 3 of Amazon Prime’s The Boys has officially kicked off filming this February and will be going on till the end of summer 2021. The shooting was set to begin a little early but the COVID-19 pandemic put a dent on the filming schedule.
Of course, season 3 will be picking up after the season 2 finale, which revealed another terrifying new foe who will sooner or later crash into the CIA- backed vigilantes led by Billy Butcher. We also know that another twisted “supe” known as Soldier Boy (played by Jensen Ackles) will be joining the crew, so there’s more trouble to look out for. Read more on Soldier Boy below:
Since filming has just started, there’s no official release date for the series. But hopefully, all goes well and we will receive the next season without any hiccups. Filming will be going on until August 2021, and then there will be a lot of post-production work to polish those VFX effects. The earliest we can predict is for the series to release in Summer 2022.
Will Jeffrey Dean Morgan appear?
There were rumours that The Walking Dead‘s Jeffrey Dean Morgan will be making an appearance, and even showrunner Erik Kripke addressed that, saying they had been texting back and forth and were trying to figure it out. But it will really depend on the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions. As Jeffrey is still filming for The Walking Dead, he can only join for a couple of days, and if there’s a two-week quarantine restriction between USA and Canada, then that would make things impossible.
Even if he doesn’t show up, we have a lot to look forward to, after Claudia Doumit’s Congresswoman Victoria Newman revealed herself to be a secret villain and of course, Ackles will be stealing the show as Soldier Boy.
