Henry Cavill shares a Cryptic Post which Hints at the Mass Effect project

Fans were able to pick out words related to the popular video game from the papers in his hands

Henry Cavill has just shared a cryptic photo on Instagram, possibly related to the Mass Effect project that’s been in the works. Mass Effect is one of the most popular sci-fi games and the franchise started in 2007. The original trilogy tells the story of Commander Shepard, a space navy soldier, and how he had to save the galaxy from the Reapers, an army of mechanical beings.

Ever since the franchise started, many players have been asking for a live-action movie, and one was supposed to be in development for over a decade, but no further updates were given.

Now, Cavill is now building up a reputation for starring in franchises with devoted fan bases. He’s the DC Extended Universe’s Superman, having played the character in 2013’s Man of Steel, 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League. He will be appearing next in the Justice League Snyder Cut, all set to premiere on HBO Max this March. Cavill also stars in Netflix’s The Witcher as the titular character, also based on a popular video game series.

From the looks of it, Cavill indeed seems to be working on the Mass Effect movie. The image shows him on the makeup chair reading some papers. Some at GamePressure used a Focus Magic program and picked out the words “Cerberus,” “Reaper,” “Geth,” and “Tali’Zorah” from the blurred texts, and all of these words are associated with the Mass Effect franchise.

While the idea of him being involved in a potential movie is exciting, there are also chances that he’s been recruited for a trailer for the upcoming Legendary Edition compilation release. But then again, Cavill will be of great help in bringing the franchise to a wide audience, some who wouldn’t think of the movie as “yet another video game adaptation.”
