Tom Holland’s Spider-Man Contract Comes to an End with No Way Home. What lays ahead now? Details Inside
While that may be true, we surely won’t be seeing the last of Holland and his gang
Tom Holland’s contract to play Spider-Man is finished after Spider-Man: No Way Home. The upcoming Marvel Studios/ Sony Pictures Entertainment is currently going on in full swing and if no changes are made, this could be the actor’s final outing as the friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man. The threequel is directed by Jon Watts, and is going to be the sixth time that Holland has donned the iconic red suit.
A (very) possible return
Holland is busy with doing press for his latest collaboration with Anthony and Joe Russo in Cherry, and in a new interview with Collider, the 24-year-old revealed that No Way Home is his final movie under contract. But he also added that if the studios want him to return, he will be very happy to do so.
Remember that time in 2019 when the deal between Sony and Marvel Studios almost got broken and Holland was almost pulled out of the MCU? Thankfully, they were able to smoothen things over and were able to draft a new agreement, and Holland seemed to have played a part in it.
How Spider-Man could return
When the new agreement was made, it was stated that Holland will be arriving in two more films as the wall crawler – his own solo movie, and another outside his own subfranchise. It seems strange for Holland to say that this will be his last movie under contract, but based on the MCU’s upcoming roster, there are a few places we can fit Spider-Man into. There is Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and also the Fantastic Four reboot, which is also directed by Watts.
There is no need to give up hope as Spidey is one of the poster characters after the Infinity Saga and Tom is also beloved among the MCU fans.
