Gamers get ready, because the alpha can arrive at any moment

Electronic Arts (EA) has announced that  Battlefield 6 will be getting an alpha sometime this year, and that it’s going to arrive sooner than previous titles. EA revealed this through a blog post that also mentioned the status of the highly anticipated first person shooter, and that it was going to be something truly incredible.

Battlefield was a franchise that was able to go toe-to-toe with the Call of Duty franchise, especially during the 2011-2013 period when Battlefield 3 and was released. But Battlefield 5 sales and reception were underwhelming, causing EA to be extra cautious with the next installment. EA’s reputation had been down for the past few years, and they will be making some big, ambitious changes to win it back.

The game will be uniting a group of EA’s top developers, who will be coming up with something new for the game, maybe even a battle royale. This battle royale is expected to kick things up a notch with a reported player count of 128 and massive levels of destruction.

In the post, EA Chief Studios Officer Laura Miele stated that Criterion will be delaying their latest Need for Speed title so that they can give Battlefield 6 all the help that it can get. Miele also stated that the alpha can come very soon and that the gameplay is at an unprecedented scale, and it’s taking full advantage of the next-gen consoles’ technology.

The game’s trailer might be released on April, since it’s rough cut has already been finished and seen internally. The game has already been confirmed for a spring reveal and a holiday 2021 release, so the alpha will be arriving shortly afterwards.

As long as the game does a good job and not rush like Cyberpunk 2077 did with the release, all will be well.
