The filming has been finished by November, so how long will we have to wait?
Jurassic World 3, or Jurassic World: Dominion to be precise, won’t be heading to cinema halls this year, but due to the uncertainty looming over every blockbuster that’s looking for a release window this year, that may be a good thing.
Wrap on Jurassic World Dominion. All my gratitude to our extraordinary crew and cast. We made a family. pic.twitter.com/svD3yURmHw

The third movie, also rumoured to be the final one, was confirmed back in February 2018, a little while after the sequel Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom crossed a staggering $1.3 billion in theatres worldwide. The movie ended with dinosaurs that had escaped from the amusement park/sanctuary roaming freely in the actual world, and a 2019 short film called Battlr at Big Rock teased the changed world that we will be seeing in the third movie.
Fortunately, the crew was able to finish filming the movie by November 2020, but we have a long wait ahead. Jurassic World: Dominion will only be coming to theatres on June 10, 2022, so you will have to keep yourself entertained by watching Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous in Netflix in the meantime.
The film’s writer/director Colin Trevorrow has stated that the Netflix spin-off series keeps “weaving into the larger story and really I form some things” in the movie series, and that certain things connect directly to Jurassic World: Dominion.
Cast and plot
Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will play the lead roles once again, but the most exciting thing is the returning cast. Isabella Sermon is returning as Maisie Lockwood, the genetically-created offspring of John Hammond’s former partner Benjamin Lockwood, the OG cast members Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern and Sam Neil, Justice Smith and Daniella Pineda from the sequel will be back, Jake Johnson and Omar Sy will be returning after being a no-show in the sequel, and BD Wong will return to play the geneticist
As for the story, we have no official plot, but Trevorrow called it a “science thriller” and Howard said it will “bring the entire saga together.”
