WandaVision will be heading to its final episode on Friday, March 5th, and fans are excited to see what’s next for Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and the fate of Westview. It’s canon right now that the Disney+ series is connected to  Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but what about the show’s own future? Well, director Matt Shakman is here to share the news.

In an interview with Collider, Shakman shared that he loved working at Marvel, and that it’s the best place in the world. He also added that they’re so great with filmmakers and he’s had such a great journey with the show. But as for plans on a second season, he said that there are no plans. It will all depend on the story. They were all so focused on telling this story through nine episodes and that hopefully, they will come to a conclusion that’s satisfying and surprising.

Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige shared a similar statement last month, saying that Olsen will be going directly from WandaVision to the Doctor Strange sequel. Feige said he won’t be saying a definite “no” to season 2 renewals. He said that it can go from a feature to a series and that they’re thinking and planning second seasons for some of the upcoming series.

As for the finale of WandaVision, Shakman says that some fans – particularly the ones who had specific theories about the show may be a bit disappointed.

Shakman hopes that the fans find them satisfying. He addressed that there are so many theories out there and that a lot of people will no doubt be disappointed, but the story they’re telling is about Wanda dealing with grief and learning how to accept that loss.

Don’t miss the finale coming out tomorrow!
