Almost a year ago, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, decided to step back from their positions as senior members of the British monarchy, but the uneasy feelings between them and the rest of the royal family are far from over.

While speaking to American talk show icon Oprah Winfrey, Meghan has now accused the Buckingham Palace of “perpetuating falsehoods” about her and her husband, and added that they will not be silent in sharing their story.

In one of the clips, we see Winfrey asking Meghan what she feels about the Palace hearing her speaking her truth today, to which Meghan replies that she doesn’t know how they could expect them to stay silent after The Firm played an active role in perpetuating falsehoods about her and Harry. “And if that comes with the risk of losing things, I mean, there’s a lot that’s been lost already,” she added.

Analysts stated that Meghan referred to the royal family as ‘The Firm,’ which was a term that the royal family uses to describe itself, may indicate the bad blood between the couple and the rest of the members, and not just about their fights with the British press.

In another excerpt from the interview, Prince Harry told Oprah that he was worried about history repeating itself, referring to his mother Princess Diana, who had been constantly troubled by the British press and dying at the age of 36 in a car crash following her divorce from Prince Charles. Harry also expressed his relief and happiness in being with his wife and said he couldn’t imagine what it was like for his mother, going through all this alone.
