Academy Award-winning actor Christian Bale to star in Netflix horror movie ‘The Pale Blue Eye’
Netflix is venturing into the Gothic horror thriller territory
Christian Bale is showing no signs of stopping as he signs up for a busy 2021 with some highly anticipated projects. The actor, who rose to fame worldwide after playing Batman in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy is currently filming Thor: Love and Thunder for Marvel and will soon be starring alongside Margot Robbie, John David Washington, Zoe Saldana, Chris Rock, and Mike Myers in David O. Russell’s next film. It was announced today that the actor will be starring next in a new horror film from Netflix titled The Pale Blue Eye.

Movie details
Bale will be reuniting with his Hostiles director Scott Cooper for The Pale Blue Eye. Bale will be playing a detective investigating a series of murders at a 1830 military academy, and is assisted by a young man later known as Edgar Allan Poe, as written by @NetflixFilm.
As per Deadline, Cooper had been wanting to make this film “for more than a decade.” The movie will be an adaptation of the novel by the same name written by Louis Bayard. Bale will be producing the film along with John Lesher and Tyler Thompson. The film will start production in the fall after Bale is done filming Thor: Love and Thunder and Russell’s untitled film. This will be the third collaboration after the actor-director duo after Out of the Furnace and Hostiles.

Bale will be starring as the big bad Gorr the God Butcher in Thor: Love and Thunder, a villain that first appeared in Thor: God of Thunder #2. Shortly after the announcement, Jason Aaron, co-creator of the character tweeted out, “All gods must die.”
Thor: Love and Thunder will also be including the Guardians of the Galaxy and will release on May 6, 2022.
