Betty White, an American actress and comedian who rose to fame for her comedic work on numerous television sitcoms including “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” “The Golden Girls,” and “Hot in Cleveland” among others, has died at age 99.
Her agent and close friend Jeff Witjas has confirmed the news. He said it was not clear whether White took her last breath on Thursday night or Friday. “I never thought she would pass away,” explained Witjas to The Associated Press. “She was my closest friend; she was the most optimistic person I’ve ever met.
