Wes Anderson is developing an adaptation of Roald Dahl's The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar, in which Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Strange) will star. The new film is a production of Netflix , as reported via Twitter , the journalist of the Daily Mail Baz Bamigboye.
The story is part of one of the short stories in the book, originally published in 1977. The plot follows Henry Sugar, who upon discovering the ability of a blind man to “see”, even without eyes, steals the boy's strategies to manage better. playing cards – fun to which he was addicted and, being also his breadwinner, as he worked in a casino. From there, Sugar starts to predict the future as well.
By the same writer, Dahl, Anderson also adapted the novel “O Fantástico Senhor Raposo”. The animation of the same name, released in 2009, featured the voices of George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Bill Murray and Willem Dafoe. The filmmaker also directed “The Eccentrics Tenenbaums”, from 2001, “Moonrise Kingdom”, from 2012, “The Great Hotel Budapest”, from 2014, and “Island of Dogs”, from 2018. His most recent production was “The French Chronicle ”, released in November 2021.

According to GamesRadar , Anderson is known for his hefty rosters. Still in the oven, his next project, “Asteroid City”, already has names like Tilda Swinton, Tom Hanks, Margot Robbie, Scarlett Johansson, Bryan Cranston and Jeff Goldblum. Thus, it is likely that big stars are yet to be announced for "The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar".
As for Cumberbatch, it can be seen currently on the big screen with the success of " Man-Air to nha: No Back Home ," in which he stars opposite alongside Tom Holland (Spider-Man) as the Doctor Tin ( Strange).
