Vasco will be the first Brazilian club to sell tickets with NFTs

Vasco da Gama, owner of the fifth largest crowd in Brazil, innovated by becoming the first club in Brazil to provide tickets for games with blockchain technology . In partnership with Block4, the Rio club will sell collectible tickets as NFTs.

Through social networks, the club announced the partnership and gave some indications about how the sale of tickets as NFTs will work. In addition to seeing Vasco's games in São Januário, fans who buy tickets in this format will also have access to exclusive rewards.

Vasco and the NFTs

Ticket sales are not exactly Vasco's debut in this market . In November 2021, the Rio de Janeiro club launched a collection of NFTs in celebration of Black Consciousness Day. The arts were intended to reinforce the anti-racist identity of the club, which was one of the first to accept black athletes.

Vasco's NFTs were made in partnership with artist Juan Calvet, and have futuristic Afro arts, some of which are still available for 0.5 ETH (Ethereum), (about R$ 8,500 at the current price).

Cryptocurrencies and Brazilian clubs

Vasco is the first Brazilian club to sell tickets as NFTs, however, football teams are investing heavily in cryptocurrencies as a way to diversify their earnings and investments. São Paulo Futebol Clube, for example, is the first club to accept cryptocurrencies in ticket sales .

The club from São Paulo announced last Friday (7) that it will sell tickets in a partnership with the Mexican broker Bitso, which also signed a sponsorship agreement with the team for the 2022 season. on the wave of fan tokens .

Currently, in addition to the São Paulo tricolor, Atlético Mineiro, Corinthians, Flamengo , Internacional and Palmeiras already have cryptocurrencies to call their own.
