Google will open 200 engineering jobs by 2023 in Brazil
This Monday (24), Google announced plans to double the company's engineering strength in Brazil. The idea is to go from the current 200 workers to 400, with the opening of 200 vacancies in the sector by the end of 2023. Another detail of the company's job vacancies is the intensification of efforts to hire black professionals.
Those interested in Google vacancies in Brazil have the options to apply for 100% remote work vacancies, in addition to those in person. The two cities that have jobs there are São Paulo and the capital of Minas Gerais, Belo Horizonte. The latter is where the company has an Engineering Center.

The hiring of workers for on-site vacancies adopt the hybrid model, with three days in the office and two days remotely. The number of days may vary according to the area or need for the function. Google highlights that, because of the Covid-19 pandemic, going to the office is voluntary.
“The expansion of the Engineering force and the initiative of channels aimed at enrolling black people are concrete examples of our ongoing commitment to the country's development. Today, Brazil is one of the most important markets for us, appearing among the 'top 5' in the list of the company's nine products with more than one billion users”, highlighted Fabio Coelho, president of Google Brazil.
The company wants to maintain its leading role in the country, in addition to taking another step in product development. Some vacancies are already open, in areas such as privacy and data security. “Investing in local talent helps us to have a 'Brazilian look' for these products and, at the same time, shows the world the innovative capacity of our professionals, since we are talking about solutions used globally”, he added.
Vacancies can be found in the “Jobs” tab, located at the top of the Google Careers homepage. On the right side, the interested party can apply filters such as skills and qualifications, experience level and job title and search for keywords, such as “Software Engineering”.
By clicking on the job title, the professional can apply using the “Apply” button. Now, for example, there are openings for computer engineering people at different levels.
“We are globally committed to making Google an increasingly representative and diverse company. Therefore, we will continue with our efforts to hire people from the black community, providing dedicated channels for application in the areas of engineering and business”, explained Daniel Borges, Google Recruitment leader for Latin America.
For these jobs, the process is very similar. Upon entering the Careers page, the candidate can search for positions identified with the “Black Community Inclusion” complement. Google Brasil also reminds you that all vacancies are open to professionals.
