Ministry regulates temporary visa for foreigners "digital nomads" in Brazil

The National Immigration Council, of the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, regulated the granting of temporary visas and residence permits to immigrants who, without employment in the country and making use of information technologies, will perform work for foreign employers.

The measure aims to stimulate activities of the so-called “digital nomads” in Brazil – a trend intensified by the home office, a consequence of the pandemic – and was published this Monday (24) in the Official Gazette of the Union.

In an interview with Agência Brasil, the national secretary of Justice and president of the collegiate, José Vicente Santini, states that the regulation meets the global trend and contributes to the tourism sector:
