Despite the pandemic and the constant component crisis, the smartphone market in India grew 12% in 2021. The number shows that most manufacturers managed to overcome the challenges in a country where cost-effectiveness is essential for the survival of any brand.
According to Canalys, India also has a somewhat "curious" scenario, as the country has seen the sale of 5G cell phones grow substantially, even though the network is not even available in the capital New Delhi.
When looking at the isolated number of each manufacturer, the biggest highlight of 2021 goes to realme . The brand managed to win over the Indian audience with its aggressive offerings and grew by 25%, overtaking OPPO and establishing itself in third place in the last quarter of the year.
