During 2021, the Action Plan to Combat Piracy (PACP) of the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) removed more than 3.3 million irregular equipment from the market.
The amount referring to telecom items without approval seized in this period was estimated at approximately R$ 394.1 million by the agency.
Anatel has increasingly invested in anti-piracy operations. In 2020, more than 1 million products were confiscated and in the first quarter of 2021 alone, there were 600,000 embargoes.
