Galaxy S22 comes in February; see what we know about datasheet

It's official: Samsung has set the date and time for the launch of the brand's next high-end smartphones, within the Galaxy S family. The event, called Unpacked, will continue in virtual format, should be the stage for the new Galaxy S22 and will take place on the 9th of February.

After a generous amount of rumors and rumours, Samsung decided to mark the official day on the calendar to announce the brand's next powerful smartphones for 2022. On February 9, the Korean company will start showing the Galaxy S22, and who knows even the Galaxy Tab S8, starting at 11:40 am Brasília time.

As important as the Galaxy S22 line is already important in itself, the Galaxy S22 Ultra should steal all the attention of the event. It already tends to be the most powerful and complete, a scenario that happened last year with the S21 Ultra, but this year this device could be the first of the Galaxy S that unites features that were previously exclusive to the Galaxy Note.

Galaxy S22 Ultra may have space for the S Pen

If the rumors are correct, the cell phone will have a more boxy look, with a thicker body so as not to offer a bump on the back, along with space inside the housing for the S Pen pen. The Galaxy S21 Ultra was the first to natively recognize the accessory, but in the Galaxy S22 Ultra we will have, for the first time, how to store, protect and recharge the device within the device itself.

The Galaxy S22 Ultra should bring a screen with curved corners at 6.8 inches, while the Galaxy S22 and its brother Galaxy S22+ can use a flat panel, with the trio at 120Hz. The set of cameras, at least in the number of sensors, should remain the same as the current generation, but Samsung has promised for this release some refinements in night images – even going to record videos in dimly lit environments.

The Galaxy S22 Ultra is sure to bring a 108-megapixel sensor and one of the cameras should be able to take 10x zoom shots on the telephoto lens. Controlling all this, we should find the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 for some countries and the Exynos 2200 in others.

Galaxy S22 from Brazil may have Snapdragon 8 Gen 1

Unlike other recent releases, there is a possibility (I bet, but I don't believe much) that Brazil will receive the Galaxy S22 with Qualcomm's processor, leaving Samsung's own Exynos aside. Either way, Android 12 will be under the hood, under One UI 4.

The Galaxy S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra are all already approved by Anatel, which allows the sale right after the official announcement for the international market. In all cases, the document issued by the agency guarantees the absence of a charger in the box, as well as for the headphones.

It is still too early to speculate on the price, but the expectation is that Samsung will do as it did with the Galaxy S21 FE, which arrived in Brazil at the same price charged by the previous generation.
