The 2023 Toyota Sequoia has just been revealed by the Japanese automaker, being practically a full-size three-row SUV version of the Tundra pickup. Boasting a 3.4-liter i-Force Max V6 hybrid twin-turbo hybrid powertrain, the vehicle is endowed with 443 hp and 80.5 Nm of torque.

With a ten-speed automatic transmission, the 2023 Toyota Sequoia is expected to start at $50,000 (about R$271,000, excluding differences in taxes or fees) and has rear-wheel drive as standard.

A four-wheel drive (4WD) system is offered for all trims, which are: SR5, Limited, Platinum, TRD Pro and Capstone – this one, a new luxury top-of-the-line that can fetch up to $70,000 fully loaded ( R$ 379 thousand in direct conversion).

Sharing a platform with the new Lexus LX 600 and the new Land Cruiser, the new Sequoia features a body-on-frame chassis with a fully boxed frame. There is a new laser welding technique aimed at rigidity, comfort and weight reduction.

Visibility improvements

A new feature of the Sequoia 2023 is Drive Mode Select, which comes with Eco, Normal and Sport settings. In Trailer/Transport mode, the electrical system constantly works in conjunction with the engine to increase acceleration and torque. To keep an eye on the trailer, there's the optional digital rear view mirror, a wide-view monitor and a hitch preview.

Each finish has multiple identification features, but not all models have access to the same paint colors. As standard, the Sequoia will ship with paint options White, Celestial Silver, Lunar Rock, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Blueprint, Army Green, Midnight Black Metallic, and Smoke Mesquite.
