Compact drone caught in drug trafficking operation at US border
Drug trafficking has found a new way to sell: drones. US Border Patrol spotted a DJI Mini 2, a base model released in mid-2020, delivering more than its own weight of methamphetamine.
Mavic Mini is DJI's most popular and affordable drone series in terms of specs, price and compactness, making it a good choice for beginner pilots. Before its launch, the Mini 2 model was touted as a “little prodigy” because of its specifications.
According to a search warrant recently issued by the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), a DJI Mini 2 was seen flying over the wall of a parking lot on the Mexican border 7 meters above the ground.
