Isekai Quartet is a Japanese anime series that began airing in 2019, and it features a slew of anime characters. The Isekai subgenre of anime is represented by the protagonists of the KonoSuba, Overlord, Re: Zero – Starting Life in Another World, and The Saga of Tanya the Evil series, all of which are excellent examples of Isekai anime. These four anime series are extremely popular, with their novels having sold more than 16 million copies and their anime adaptations having sold more than 500,000 copies in Blu-ray or DVD format.
The Isekai Quartet has enjoyed the same level of success. The anime’s second season was quickly approved. Isekai Quartet was also broadcast on Netflix Japan, allowing it to be seen on a variety of platforms. Minoru Ashina directed and wrote the anime, which was licenced by Funimation and Crunchyroll. Fans are anticipating the third season following the conclusion of the second season on March 31, 2020. Let’s take a closer look at the series and its third season.
WHEN WILL ISEKAI QUARTET SEASON 3 BE RELEASED?
Unfortunately, the animation studio responsible for “Isekai Quartet,” Studio Puyukai, has not revealed a release date for Season 3. This, however, is likely to reserve fan excitement for the upcoming “Isekai Quartet” film, which is scheduled for release in 2022. (via Anime News Network). Season 3 will almost certainly be revealed to fans prior to, and possibly after, the film’s release. This means that Season 3 could debut in late 2022 or early 2023.
Similarly, the series’ previous releases support the aforementioned estimated release schedule, which included a roughly year-long gap between Seasons 1 and 2. Assuming the “Isekai Quartet” film is treated as a separate season, the series will have one entry per year. Naturally, something could always go wrong and disrupt that delicate process. However, until Studio Puyukai states otherwise, this is a safe assumption to make.
ISEKAI QUARTET SEASON 3 – CHARACTERS!
The first season of “Isekai Quartet” featured the main casts of four distinct Isekai franchises, thus the term “quartet.” These include “KonoSuba” (which stars Kazuma and the three main female characters, Aqua, Darkness, and Megumin), “Overlord” (which stars Ainz Ooal Gown and her companions Albedo and Shalltear), “The Saga of Tanya the Evil” (which stars the eponymous Tanya and her Imperial Army allies), and “Re: Zero” (Subaru, Emilia, Ram, and Rem). Additionally, various other characters from each series make appearances in certain episodes.
Even with that expanded cast, the series has plenty of room to expand. Season 2 of “Isekai Quartet” expands the show’s quintet status by introducing characters from the anime “The Rising of the Shield Hero,” including protagonist Naofumi and his raccoon-lady companion, Raphtalia. Additionally, several characters from the television series “Cautious Hero” make cameo appearances.
These previous additions demonstrate that Season 3 has the potential to incorporate even more popular Isekai characters. While Studio Puyukai has not confirmed whether the show’s cast will expand further, many fans would welcome the return of characters from franchises such as “Jobless Reincarnation” or “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime.”
ISEKAI QUARTET SEASON 3- PLOT!
As a lighthearted spinoff series, “Isekai Quartet” is not required to follow a rigid plotline. The show begins with each protagonist discovering a mysterious button that, when pressed, transports them to an entirely new world. This time, the majority of their exploits occur within the confines of a high school. As a result, a large number of episodes revolve around typical high school anime tropes.
Season 2 finds the mixed medley of Isekai heroes preparing for their new school’s annual festival, exchanging Valentine’s cards, and swiping booze from their principal’s office. Similar shenanigans are likely to occur when all of the crews reunite in Season 3. Whatever the case, the adventures of the “Isekai Quartet” gang will remain as lighthearted and enjoyable as ever, a far cry from their previous worlds’ dark tragedies.
ARE THERE GOING TO BE A SECOND SEASON OF ISEKAI QUARTET?
Excellent news for series fans! The third season of the series has been renewed. Given the anime’s popularity and impressions, it’s unsurprising that a new season was confirmed. The anime team announced the renewal via Twitter in conjunction with the second season’s final episode. Funimation, the licensee, has included this renewal on its website. Crunchyroll relayed the news in English to the rest of the world via Twitter and its blog.
