Since her TikTok fame, fans have been curious about Charli D’Amelio’s boyfriend, who she’s currently dating, and what happened with her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Lil Huddy. Charli began using TikTok in May 2019 after making dance videos on the accounts of her friends. “I got into TikTok because all of my friends were using it and posting on their accounts.
” Because I didn’t have an account, I was just dancing on their phones and saying, ‘Oh, can you send me that?’ “That’s really cool,” she told Variety in 2020. “I eventually decided to create my own account because I was having so much fun making these dance videos with my friends.” I downloaded the app, started dancing, my videos became more popular on the app, and a lot has happened since then. Now that I’m here, I get to do things like this.”
What Became of Charli D’Amelio and Lil Huddy—& Is She Dating Anyone Now?
Charli, who had 1 million followers less than two years prior, became the first TikTok creator to reach 100 million followers in November 2020. Despite receiving brand deals and sponsorships as a result of her TikTok fame, Charlie’d Amelio revealed to Entertainment Tonight in 2020 about the negative consequences of the attention. “When you start noticing yourself getting into that place where you’re like, ‘Wow, these people are more invested in seeing us fail than they are in seeing us be happy together,” she explained at the time.
“It can be extremely harmful, and all you have to do is stay true to yourself.” It happens in friendships, relationships, and everything else.”In 2020, Charli also told Variety about how her friendships have changed as a result of her social media status. “At first, it was really awkward because when TikTok first came out, it was kind of like, ‘Oh, you’re on TikTok?'” ‘That’s strange,’ she said.
“As a result, I wouldn’t tell anyone.” Someone would approach me and ask for a picture, and then someone else would say, ‘Oh, how do they know you?’ ‘Say, where are you from?’ ‘Oh, I do social media,’ I thought. I’m not sure,’ and I’d get very uncomfortable.”
She went on, ‘Hey, I saw you on my ‘For You’ page,’ my friends would say. That’s so strange.

‘It took a lot of that for me to feel comfortable saying, ‘Yeah, I’m on TikTok.’ I just started posting videos because I was having fun making them and didn’t care what anyone else thought. But, since then, I’ve switched to an online one-on-one schooling programme, which is ideal for me because I have a hectic schedule. So I’m able to work my school hours around that, and I can do them a little bit earlier and finish them. I’ve also made a lot more friends out in California.
Lil Huddy (2020 – 2021)
Charli D’Amelio and Chase Hudson (a.k.a. Lil Huddy), another TikTok creator, met in November 2019 as members of the Hype House, which Chase co-founded with TikToker Thomas Petrou. In February 2020, the two confirmed their relationship via Valentine’s Day Instagram posts to one another. Lil Huddy revealed in a December 2019 interview with Entertainment Tonight that he and Charli had been dating since December 2019.
In March 2020, members of another TikTok group, the Sway House, claimed Lil Huddy had cheated on Charli. Josh Richard of Sway House claimed that his then-girlfriend, TikToker Nessa Barret of TikToker, had received explicit DMs and photos from Lil Huddy. Josh and TikToker also released a song titled “Still Softish” at the time, in which they continued to accuse Lil Huddy of having sexual relations with other women.
The song’s music video begins with Josh receiving texts from Nessa regarding Lil Huddy texting her. Additionally, the lyrics include the phrase “Tryna fuck my girl.” As if I couldn’t see” and “to inform all of your fans that you are still fucking with girls. “It’s Charli’s world,” which were directed at Lil Huddy. Charli and Lil Huddy announced their breakup on their Instagram Stories a month later, in April 2020.
“It pains me to say this, but we have determined that this is the best course of action for both of us. We remain close friends, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world!” At the time, Charli wrote… “I apologise for keeping you all in suspense for so long. I wanted to give myself time to process it. Breakups are difficult for anyone, and I’d much rather avoid discussing them.”
“Charli is such an amazing person, and I am so beyond grateful and blessed to have spent the time I did with her,” Lil Huddy wrote. We will always be friends, and she will forever hold a special place in my heart. We apologise for the delay in coming forward, but this was something we wanted to work through privately first.”In May 2020, a month after their breakup, rumours began to circulate that Charli and Huddy had reconciled.
He sent her a birthday message with a white heart emoji, to which she responded with the same emoji. Charli accused Chase of cheating on her with Nessa in July 2020. The drama began when Josh, Bryce, and other TikTokers deleted Huddy’s Instagram account. “I hope she was worth it,” Charli then tweeted. Huddy appeared to respond to Charli’s tweet by implying that the drama was caused by his kiss with Nessa. “All of this drama is occurring as a result of my kissing Nessa while we were both single,” he wrote.
To her credit, Charli responded to Huddy’s tweet by denying that he was single at the time he and Nessa kissed. “Then you should not have visited my house without first informing me,” she wrote. When Huddy attempted to accuse other TikTokers of infidelity, Charli accused Huddy of attempting to “play the victim.” “Stop deflecting your actions onto others because you are incapable of accepting responsibility Chase,” she wrote.
Do you wish for me to discuss how you treated me throughout our relationship, or do you wish to continue playing the victim?” Later in the day, Charli and Huddy apologised for their social media spat and confirmed that they had spoken privately and were on good terms. “Everything is in order, but it should never have happened,” Huddy wrote at the time on his Instagram Story. “I’ll be growing as a person as a result of this, as well as setting a better example for you guys.”
The drama, however, did not spell the end of Huddy and Charli’s relationship. Huddy released the music video for “America’s Sweetheart” in April 2021, featuring Charli as his love interest. Though the two initially stated to TMZ that they were “just friends,” rumours circulated that they were reuniting. Charli and Huddy walked the red carpet together at the iHeart Music Radio Awards in May 2021, implying their reconciliation, though neither has confirmed their reconciliation.
