He first gained prominence with the release of his country rap single “Old Town Road,” which went viral in early 2019 before climbing international music charts and being certified diamond in November of the same year.

He began playing the trumpet in fourth grade and advanced to the first chair by junior high, but quit for fear of appearing uncool. Hill graduated from Lithia Springs High School in 2017.
