Julie Bowen Luetkemeyer (born March 3, 1970) is an actress from the United States. She is best known for her role as Claire Dunphy in the ABC sitcom Modern Family (2009–2020), for which she received critical praise and received six Primetime Emmy nominations, winning in 2011 and 2012.
Bowen also played Roxanne Please on the NBC medical drama ER (1998–1999), Carol Vessey on the NBC comedy Ed (2000–2004), Denise Bauer on the ABC legal drama Boston Legal (2005–2007), and Sarah Shephard on the ABC drama Lost (2005–2007).
Bowen was born in Baltimore, Maryland, the second of three daughters of Suzanne and commercial real estate entrepreneur John Alexander Luetkemeyer Jr. She is the younger sister of Annie Luetkemeyer, an infectious disease specialist, and Molly Luetkemeyer, a fashion designer. During a recent interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Modern Family actor Julie Bowen discussed her love life. The actress revealed to guest presenter Adam DeVine that she is “extremely single” and has opted to put her dating life on hold for the time being.
Bowen also revealed that she bought Gertrude Stein, her favourite dog, as a retirement gift from dating. When DeVine hinted at the actress having a thing on Harry Styles, the 51-year-old claimed she is willing to come out of her “dating retirement” for him:

The Boston Legal alum said to US Weekly in November 2017 that she and her husband aren’t “ideal people,” and that they even let their children witness their “tensions and conflicts.”
But, according to a source close to the couple, Julie Bowen and Scott Phillips have decided to live “different lives” in the same year. The couple apparently tried to repair their marriage for the sake of their children, but their relationship was allegedly “hanging by a thread.”
People reported on February 1, 2018, that the couple had decided to end their relationship. Julie Bowen filed for divorce from Scott Phillips a few days later, and the processes were concluded on September 13, 2018, according to TMZ.
The two agreed to split their $25 million wealth, which included both properties and cash, according to The Daily Mail. According to court filings, Bowen received a little more than $13 million from their joint fortune, while Phillips received roughly $12.3 million.
Scott Phillips also requested spousal support and joint physical and legal custody of their three children from Julie Bowen.
