Sharmaine Ruffa Rama Gutierrez is a Filipino model, beauty queen, host, and actress who was born on June 24, 1974.
She won Look of the Year – the Philippines in 1992, Binibining Pilipinas World in 1993, and Miss World Second Runner-up in 1993.
Gutierrez began performing in the 1980s as a teenager for BMG Films. In the early 1990s, she appeared on German Moreno’s That’s Entertainment variety show before becoming a beauty queen in 1993.
Gutierrez partnered with comedian Rene Requiestas in Regal Film’s Wunder Woman Plus One in December 1990, replacing Snooky Serna in the starring role.
The project, however, did not materialise, and Gutierrez and Requests were eventually cast in the 1993 film Hulihin: Probinsyanong Mandurukot.

On November 27, 1993, Gutierrez competed as the official representative of her nation in the Miss World pageant in Sun City, South Africa, where she became second runner-up to winner Lisa Hanna of Jamaica.

In a virtual news conference for TV5‘s Stay-In Love, Ruffa said, “It’s easy to fall in love, but it takes work to stay in love,” as reported by PEP.
“As for me, I recently ended a relationship and am now happily single.” So, for the time being, I’m content. I’m not sure. She explained, “Para akong nabunutan ng tinik.”
Ruffa stated that she would prefer to focus on herself and her children, Lorin and Venice Bektas, than start a new relationship for the time being.
“I’m not sure I’m ready for a new relationship just yet.” At this moment, I suppose I just want to focus on my profession and my children. She said, “And you can always be happy and in love on your own.”
