On March 18th, 1979, Adam Noah Levine was born in Los Angeles, California. When Adam was seven years old, his parents, Fredric and Patsy Levine divorced.
He has described his family as “extremely musical,” and has credited his distinctive musical approach to growing up listening to his mother’s idols, Simon & Garfunkle, Fleetwood Mac, and the Beatles.
Adam Levine’s Early Career in Music!
In February 1994, Levine, Carmichael, Madden, and their buddy Ryan Dusick established Kara’s Flowers. In 1995, they had their first show at West Hollywood’s Whisky a Go-Go, with Levine on vocals and guitar.
Producer Tommy Allen spotted the band while they were performing at a beach party in Malibu. Kara’s Flowers recorded an 11-track CD for Allen and his girlfriend, and they were then signed to Repetition Records by producer Rob Cavallo.
The band’s debut album, The Fourth World, was released in August 1997. The band also had a cameo appearance on Beverly Hills, 90210 in the same year.
After graduating from high school, the lads went on tour to promote their CD, but with little success. Reprise dropped Kara’s Flowers when the record barely sold roughly 5,000 copies, and the band disbanded soon after.
Adam Levine’s Rock Band-Maroon 5!
Levine and Carmichael moved to New York to study at Five Towns College after the band disbanded. Kara’s Flowers eventually decided to reform with a makeover, adding a fifth member, replacing one, and renaming themselves Maroon 5.
Before making it great in the music industry, Levine worked as a writer’s assistant on the CBS television drama Judging Amy. Adam penned several poems and songs about an ex-girlfriend named Jane during his time on Judging Amy.
These notes would later become Maroon 5’s first chart-topping album, “Songs About Jane,” released in 2002 and certified triple platinum.
The album was a surprise hit, selling ten million copies and ranking as the tenth best-selling album of 2004–two years after its initial release.
Maroon 5 received the Grammy for Best New Artist in 2005, and the Grammy for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group the following year for the album’s second single, the wildly successful “This Love.”
Maroon 5 has sold over 30 million records globally since its debut, including 10 million in the United States alone. In addition, the band has sold over 30 million digital singles.
Maroon 5 is still actively recording and touring. Six studio albums, three live albums, 30 singles, and 23 music videos have been released.
Levine has received numerous Grammy, Billboard Music Awards, and American Music Award nominations. In addition to his work with Maroon 5, Adam Levine has appeared on dozens of recordings as a guest singer with a variety of well-known acts.
