Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith were at the centre of the conversation during the 94th Academy Awards.
Will earned an Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his depiction of tennis legends Venus and Serena Williams’ father in the film King Richard, marking the first time in his decades-long career.
Will spoke about his love for his wife and family during his acceptance speech, in which he apologised for an earlier fight with Chris Rock.
The Smiths have won several awards, had three children, and leapt out of an aircraft together as one of Hollywood’s most renowned power couples. Smith and his wife married in 1997 and have been happily married ever since.
Despite the fact that the two have never shied away from publicising their relationship’s ups and downs, their 24-year marriage is a testament to how they’ve weathered every storm—including a divorce—despite being in the public glare.
Will also discussed his romance in a recent interview with GQ. He expanded on something Jada has talked about on her show Red Table Talk: she doesn’t always agree with the “conventional” marriage standards.
“Jada was never one for traditional nuptials. He told the publication that Jada’s family members had an unusual relationship.
“As a result, she grew up in a totally different way than I did.” There were lengthy debates regarding what constitutes relational excellence.

1994
When Jada auditioned for the role of his girlfriend on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, they met. He was married to Sheree Zampino at the time, with whom he shares his son Trey, and she did not win the part.
In 2018, he said on Red Table Talk, “I had a realisation I wasn’t with the person I was supposed to be with.” “I was crying and laughing uncontrollably in a [bathroom] stall, and I knew [Jada] was the lady I was intended to be with.”
1995
Following his divorce from Zampino in 1995, the Men in Black star and the Gotham alum began dating. He asked Jada whether she was “seeing anyone,” and when she said no, he took action. “Cool. He said, “You’re seeing me now.”
1997
In November 1997, Will proposed to Jada, and they married a month later. The wedding took place in a hotel near her hometown of Baltimore.

1998
Jaden, the couple’s son, was born in July 1998. He went on to feature alongside his father in a number of films, including The Pursuit of Happiness and After Earth.
2000
Willow was born to Will and Jada in October of 2000. She, like the rest of her family, pursued music and now cohosts Red Table Talk with her mother.
2013
In April 2013, the actress made headlines when she addressed allegations that she and Will were having an open relationship.
She told HuffPost Live, “I believe people get that sense because Will and I are really easygoing with each other.” “However, I’ve always told Will, ‘You may do whatever you want as long as you can look in the mirror and be OK,'” she says.
Jada later denied the two are swingers on multiple occasions.
March 2022
Will and Jada looked stunning on the red carpet at the 2022 Oscars, but things got a little tricky for the couple later in the evening.
Will made it plain that he didn’t enjoy presenter Chris Rock’s joke about Jada (who has openly discussed her hair loss condition) appearing like the star of G.I. Jane 2 due to her bald head.

He even went on stage to smack Chris and tell him to “get my wife’s name out of your f*cking mouth,” but it was all muted.
And, based on the audience’s silence and Chris’s expression, it appears that the reaction was completely spontaneous. At the very least, Will has his wife’s support?
