Bryson Lashun Potts (born November 1, 2002), better known by his stage name NLE Choppa (formerly YNR Choppa), is a Memphis, Tennessee-based rapper.
His 2019 single “Shotta Flow” was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and charted in the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100.
Cottonwood, his debut EP, was also released in 2019. On August 7, 2020, NLE Choppa released his debut studio album, Top Shotta.
It reached number ten on the US Billboard 200, with the singles “Camelot” and “Walk Em Down” both reaching the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100.
On November 1st of the same year, NLE Choppa released his debut mixtape, From Dark to Light. On January 28, 2022, he released his second commercial mixtape, Me vs. Me.

In January 2019, NLE Choppa released his first single, “Shotta Flow”. The song had over 300,000 views on YouTube within two weeks of its release. Within a month, it had accumulated 10 million views.
In February 2019, he released a sequel named “Shotta Flow Pt. 2,” which garnered 20 million views on YouTube in just two months. Choppa’s popularity spurred a bidding war among major music labels.
Choppa was featured in Juvenile and Birdman’s song “Dreams” from the album “Just Another Gangsta” the following month. He was featured on Smokepurpp’s song “Double” off the album “Lost Planet” in April 2019. He also released a track named ‘Blocc is Hot’ in May 2019.
In the same month, he performed at the ‘Beale Street Music Event,’ marking his first appearance at a music festival. Critics praised his performance, and Bob Mehr predicted that he will have “more great Memphis moments” in his career.

NLE Choppa’s Personal Life
NLE Choppa fathered his first child, a daughter, on June 20, 2020. “I realised I had to change and be a better person for my daughter,” he stated.
NLE Choppa stated on March 6, 2022, that he and his partner, Marissa Da’Nae, had miscarried their baby son.
NLE Choppa began his “Awakened Choppa” YouTube channel in August 2020, where he highlighted his holistic and healthier lifestyle, which included veganism and gardening.
