Emily in Paris Season 2: Will Emily Continue to Work at Savoir? Did She Go With Alfie or Gabriel?

Emily in Paris is a Netflix original comedy-drama streaming television series developed by Darren Star. The series, set and filmed in Paris, stars Lily Collins as Emily, an American who travels to France to bring an American perspective to Savoir, a French marketing business.

There, she tries to excel at work while looking for love and dealing with a culture clash with her “boring” and mundane Midwestern U.S. upbringing.

Release Date

The release Date of Emily in Paris Season 2 is 22 December 2021.

What Can We Anticipate From the New Script?

Season 2 will reportedly pick off just where Season 1 left off: Emily and Gabriel have just slept together, with the expectation that Gabriel will leave for Normandy the next morning. However, thanks to a large investment from Emily’s Savoir client, Antoine, Gabriel is staying.

Add in Emily’s forthcoming trip to Saint Tropez with Mathieu Cadault, and the drama is set to explode. In November 2021, Star told Entertainment Weekly, “Her life is in shambles.” “I don’t believe she’s ever been in a tumultuous relationship.” And the more she tries to keep things under control, the more they spiral out of control.”

Bravo hinted at the prospect of an LGBT connection in the second season in an interview with Cosmopolitan. According to him, the first season “dropped a few seeds concerning other personalities.” This is where things get interesting: “Like Camille, when she kisses Emily on the lips and says, ‘I’m not sorry.'”

“And then, after they’re in bed, and I like the picture, it’s all small seeds,” he continued. “Anything may happen between the three. “I believe Darren intends for this second season to be really open-minded.”

Who Has Joined the Cast Recently?

Lucien Laviscount will join the cast as another love interest for Emily—and is he less of a Francophile than she is? According to Deadline, Laviscount will play Alfie, a Londoner who “refuses to learn French or immerse himself in French culture.”

Lovely! He appears to begin his relationship with Emily as an opponent, which gradually transforms into something seductive and passionate. He works for a British bank as a finance bro, and “unlike Emily, he works to live, not lives to work.” He’d rather be playing football or drinking a pint at an English-speaking pub with the fellas.”

Continuing the theme of Emily in Paris going insane, Netflix announced in May 2021 that Jeremy O. Harris and Arnaud Binard will appear in season 2. Harris, a well-known Broadway playwright, will portray an obscure “iconic fashion designer,” while Binard will play “the party boy owner of a prominent Saint Tropez nightclub.”

This information was obtained via Twitter. You may be able to find the same content in a different format, or more information, on their website.

Harris’s role has risen since he joined the ensemble, according to Star. “We wrote the part and sent it to him, and honestly, once he said yes, the part grew a little bigger!” Star stated. “He inspired us a little bit, so I wanted to bring him back, and he plays an essential role later in the series.”

Will Emily Continue to Work at Savoir?

It’s unclear if Emily will remain at Savoir or lead the “French revolution” of the advertising business alongside Sylvie, Luc, and Julien. At the end of season 2, she must choose between working her way up Savoir and the Gilbert Group (the reason she’s in Paris in the first place) and joining Sylvie, Luc, and Julien’s new agency.

If she continues at Savoir with her Chicago boss, Madeline, she will almost certainly get the promotion she has been working for years. However, if she takes a chance and joins her Parisian colleagues, she may have more opportunities to develop her skills.

The episode concludes with Emily making a phone call to Sylvie with her decision – we just don’t know what it is. If she wants to stay in Paris for a longer period of time, she should join Sylvie’s new agency and make the transfer permanent.

Did She Go With Alfie or Gabriel?

As previously stated, Emily’s love life is fraught with struggle throughout Season 2. Her relationship with Gabriel began to deteriorate, causing her to lose her opportunity with Mathieu and compromise her bond with Camille.

Emily found romance with her hot British classmate from French class in an attempt to move on from the predicament. The ensuing love triangle between Emily, Gabriel, and Alfie provides for some genuinely amazing entertainment.

Alfie has his doubts about Gabriel near the end of the season, but he stays with Emily regardless. Emily discovers she’s still in love with Gabriel after Alfie suggests a long-distance engagement. Emily learns that Gabriel and Camille have reconciled after she admits her affections.

Emily has lost her chance with Gabriel (for the time being), so she can pursue an LDR with Alfie. Let’s hope Netflix approves the third season so we can receive some answers.
