Is Amber Heard Pregnant? Amber Heard Confirms She Conceived Her First Child Through Surrogacy!
Amber Heard, the actress from the Aquaman film franchise, is now the mother of a lovely kid. The actress announced the birth of her daughter, Oonagh Paige Heard, on Twitter and Instagram. She said that she accomplished this feat with the assistance of a surrogate.
Surrogacy is a popular method for individuals who are unable to conceive to become parents. Numerous Hollywood celebrities, including Tyra Banks, Jimmy Fallon, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Elton John, are surrogate parents.
Even in Bollywood, there are numerous superstars who have benefited from and begun their motherhood journeys through surrogacy. Closer to home, Aamir Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Tushar Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty, and a slew of other celebrities have used surrogacy.
Recently, surrogacy has been a popular option for couples who are having difficulty conceiving naturally or who prefer to welcome a child into their life on their own. Given how common surrogacy has become in recent years, we explain how it works and the considerations that may need to be made before someone opts for it:
What Exactly Is Surrogacy?
Surrogacy is a contract between intending parents and a woman who commits to bear the couple’s kid. There is a legal document that serves as a binding agreement between the two parties and protects them from conflicts. When a couple is unable to conceive on their own, they seek a surrogate.
Why Has Surrogacy Become So Popular?
It is popular because it enables infertile parents to become parents, complete their families, and enjoy parenthood. There are numerous reasons why people are unable to conceive, including the following:
- Situations sanitaires
- Infertility
- Age
- Prior pregnancy complications
These difficulties can make conception more challenging for the couple. It is critical to realize that surrogacy is not an option for women who wish to avoid the discomfort associated with pregnancy.
It is a highly sophisticated procedure that necessitates certain preconditions. Surrogacy is not as straightforward as it appears, but it is an excellent alternative for intended couples.
Advantages of Surrogacy
When intended parents are unable to conceive on their own, they can choose surrogacy. It allows them to experience the joy of parenthood and brings them together as a family.
It aids in the development of relationships: The majority of surrogates and intended spouses develop a strong bond and build lifelong bonds.
It has a greater chance of success: Surrogacy has a higher chance of success and healthy pregnancies than fertility treatments for intended parents. Surrogacy in India was popular among international parents who were unable to conceive due to its lower cost than surrogacy in the United States. In 2015, India amended its surrogacy laws.
The new legislation restricted surrogacy to Indian parents who had been married for at least five years. In 2018, the law was amended to prohibit commercial surrogacy in India, but permit selfless surrogacy for needy, infertile Indian couples with a physician’s letter and proof of infertility.
Women could only be surrogates once if they were married, had biological children, or were close relatives of the prospective couple. Additionally, it prohibited surrogacy for single parents, gays, and live-in couples. Surrogacy is a complicated topic, and individuals should consult their physician and family members before taking any steps.

On Thursday, the 35-year-old actress took to Twitter and Instagram to announce the birth of her first child, a baby girl called Oonagh Paige Heard, via surrogate on April 8, 2021.
“I’m overjoyed to share this news with you,” Heard captioned a photo of herself cuddling her infant. “I determined four years ago that I wanted to have a child. I desired to accomplish this on my own terms. I now see how revolutionary it is for us as women to approach one of the most essential aspects of our destinies in this manner. I hope we reach a time when it is considered normal not to want a ring in order to have a crib.”
Heard continued, admitting that she is still cautious to divulge details about her personal life. “A part of me wants to maintain that my private life is irrelevant to anyone,” she explained. “I also understand that my work requires me to take control of this.”
