Childhood
Miranda Lambert was born Miranda Leigh Lambert in Longview, Texas on November 10, 1983. She was raised by her mother Bev, her father Rick (a retired police officer), and her younger brother Luke. Rick was a member of a 1970s country-rock band, and both of Miranda’s parents eventually worked as private investigators and were involved in the Bill Clinton-Paula Jones affair inquiry.
The family became bankrupt following the Texas oil bust and relocated to Lindale, Texas. Things finally improved, and Bev and Rick established a faith-based organization and began housing domestic abuse victims. Lambert sang with The Texas Pride Band and Reo Palm Isle’s house band as a youngster.
Career
Miranda debuted on the Johnnie High Country Music Revue, an Arlington, Texas, talent program, at the age of 16, and soon after joined a Nashville recording session but departed due to her dislike for the sort of music presented. She returned to her hometown in 2000, and her father taught her how to play the guitar.
