She was the First Lady of Russia from 7 May 2012 to 6 June 2013. As the First Lady, she remained out of the media spotlight and spotlight. The majority of her public appearances were strictly restricted by governmental policy.
Before the divorce became public, there were reports that Putin was dating former Olympic gymnast Alina Kabayeva.

Putin’s ex-wife marries a toyboy 21 years her junior, as the Russian president pursues a gymnast of a younger age
- Lyudmila, the ex-wife of Vladimir Putin, is rarely seen in public and looks to have remarried.
- She is 21 years older than the dashing businessman who is known to be her friend.
- There are no marriage certificates in Russia, but her name has been altered on official documents.
- Putin has stated that he will not remarry until Lyudmila gets engaged.
According to sources in Moscow, Vladimir Putin’s ex-wife Lyudmila has married a man 21 years her junior. The 58-year-old former Russian first lady appears to have changed her name to that of a known friend, 37-year-old dashing businessman Arthur Ocheretny, according to official records.
If she has married him, it echoes the rumoured romance between the Kremlin strongman and Olympic gymnast Alina Kabayeva, also in her 30s. However, this is in sharp contrast to rumours that the former Aeroflot flight attendant had sought refuge in an Orthodox Church convent.
As marriage certificates are not public in Russia, there is no confirmation of the union. In July 2013, Putin and his wife announced their divorce.
Since then, she has virtually vanished from public view, while the Russian president restricts questions about his private life, despite having stated in 2014 that he was content with his romantic relationships.
Ocheretny is rumoured to be in charge of the Centre For Interpersonal Communications and Literature Education publishing houses in Moscow, both of which have ties to Lyudmila Putina. His previous employer, Art Show Centre, organised parties for Putin’s political party, United Russia, and the energy giant Gazprom.
Lyudmila Alexandrovna Ocheretnaya, whose name, date, and place of birth match those of the former first lady, is now listed as the owner of a St. Petersburg property that was previously believed to have been owned by her family.
If she had married Ocheretny, her married name would be Ocheretny. However, marriage records are not accessible to the public in Russia. It cannot be ruled out that there was an element of deception, maybe in an effort to offer Lyudmila some privacy following her years in the spotlight, during which she felt uncomfortable.
In contrast, she had definitely achieved incognito in recent years, having only been spotted in public once since Putin and she announced their divorce after watching a Bolshoi Theatre performance together.
