Sony Pictures International Productions, G. Mahesh Babu Entertainment, and A+S Movies are the companies responsible for producing the Indian biographical action film Major, which is set to be released in 2022.
Sashi Kiran Tikka is the film’s director. The story of the film, which was shot at the same time in both Telugu and Hindi, is based on the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, an army officer who was killed in the assaults that took place in Mumbai in 2008.
In addition to creating the script for the movie, Adivi Sesh also stars in it as the main character and makes his debut in Hindi cinema. The film also stars Saiee Manjrekar, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prakash Raj, Revathi, and Murali Sharma.
Production officially got underway in February 2020 and continued all the way through December 2021. The COVID-19 pandemic caused production delays, which were unfortunately unavoidable. The shooting took place over the course of 120 days and took place in over 75 different locales.
On May 24th, 2022, a restricted theatrical release of Major was held in a number of places across India. The date of its release across the globe is set to be June 3rd, 2022.

Beginning on May 24, 2022, Major was shown in select theaters as part of a limited release, and special pre-release screenings were held in a number of locations throughout India, including Delhi, Lucknow, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Vishakapatnam, Bangalore, and Kochi.
The film Major is slated to have a broad release in theaters on June 3, 2022, in the languages of Telugu and Hindi, along with the dubbed version in Malayalam. Earlier, it was planned to be released on July 2, 2021; however, the date was postponed due to the pandemic caused by COVID-19.
Later, the release was rescheduled for the 11th of February 2022, however, the release date was postponed due to the uncertainty that prevailed over the reopening of cinemas as a result of the Omicron variant spread.
Later in the month of February 2022, the film’s release date was moved from the original date of 27 May 2022 to the new date of 3 June 2022.

This film, which is based on the story of the real-life hero Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, tries to depict how this courageous soldier rescued the lives of several captives before being slain by the terrorists that caused mayhem in the Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai, India on November 26, 2008.
