On Thursday night, Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson led the Warriors to a 103-90 victory over the Celtics in Game 6 of the NBA Finals to clinch the championship.
Curry was the driving force behind the victory that the Warriors had in Boston. He scored 34 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and dished out seven assists. In the end, the series Most Valuable Player award went to him.
Green came close to a triple-double by scoring 12 points, grabbing 12 rebounds, and dishing out eight assists. Meanwhile, Thompson contributed 12 points and five rebounds to the team’s total.
The championship game of the series was by no means an immediate classic because the Warriors took a significant lead in the first half and never gave it up.
To the credit of the Celtics, at various points in the second half, it did appear as though they may at least threaten to bring the score within striking distance; however, Curry, Green, and the Warriors were simply too much.
It is the fourth championship for Curry, Green, and Thompson, who previously triumphed against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2015, 2017, and 2018.
After their victory on Thursday night, all three of them celebrated on the court until they were blue in the face, with Curry actually breaking down in tears.

Thursday night at TD Garden, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Boston Celtics 103-90 to win the 2022 NBA championship. Their Game 6 triumph on the road, highlighted by an early 21-0 surge, effectively secured the Warriors’ fourth championship in the previous eight years.
Initially, the event had a quite different appearance. The Celtics opened the game on a 14-2 run, and it appeared for a while that they might force a pivotal Game 7 in San Francisco.
However, the Warriors responded with a run of their own, resulting in a five-point lead at the end of the first quarter. The situation would worsen from there.
Golden State showered three-pointers on their hapless opponents throughout the first two minutes of the second quarter as the Warriors held Boston scoreless. At the conclusion of the blitz, the Warriors had compiled a 21-0 run, the longest such run in the NBA Finals in fifty years.
The Celtics, on the other hand, were left hoping for one more stunning comeback. The Celtics trailed by 15 points at halftime, a hardly insurmountable deficit considering their history of playoff comebacks. However, the Warriors refused to budge.
Stephen Curry‘s three-pointer midway through the third quarter gave the Warriors a 22-point lead that basically ended the game and earned Curry the first Finals MVP title of his Hall of Fame-bound career.
To their credit, Boston refused to give up, even trimming Golden State’s advantage to eight in the middle of the third quarter. The Celtics dug themselves too deep a hole, too early, against an opponent that was too powerful for them to recover.
The finals were advertised as a contest between youth and experience, and it’s reasonable to say that experience prevailed. Throughout the series, the Warriors capitalized on Boston’s turnovers and mental errors; the Celtics committed 22 turnovers in Game 6 alone.

Even though Golden State went behind 1-2 to open the series, they battled back to win three consecutive games, including two on the road, against a squad that had never lost consecutive playoff games.
Curry, who scored 34 points in the last game, was phenomenal throughout most of the series, with the exception of a minor wobble in Game 5. His Finals MVP was not a lifetime accomplishment award; his 43-point Game 4 effort was the deciding factor in the series. These were his last exams.
