HBO Cancelled Prequel to Game of Thrones After Spending $30 Million on Pilot!
According to reports, Kit Harrington will reprise the role that made him a household name. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the British actor will resume his role as Jon Snow in a new HBO series of Game of Thrones.
Kit Harington Is ‘Prepared To Return’ As Jon Snow For The Upcoming Game Of Thrones Series On HBO
It is the first television series set in George R.R. Martin‘s fantastic universe that takes place after the conclusion of the acclaimed series. A few prequel shows have been announced, but none will explain what transpired following Season 8’s total s**tstorm.
Jon Snow discovered that his real name was Aegon Targaryen and that he had a legitimate claim to the Iron Throne. However, he was forced to kill his beloved Daenerys when she turned power-hungry and sought to annihilate all of Westeros.
After the Game of Thrones’s conclusion, Jon decided to abandon his normal life and journey north beyond The Wall to hang out with the wildling pals he made earlier in the series.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, if the program is produced, Kit may not be the only actor who returns. Technically, we may be seeing additional cast members who survived Season 8’s outrageousness.
Arya Stark (Maisie Williams), Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), and Brienne of Tarth are among them (Gwendoline Christie).

Maisie Williams “Cannot Wait” For The Game Of Thrones Spinoff House Of The Dragon
Maisie Williams will reappear in Westeros. No, Arya Stark is still embarking on an uncharted maritime adventure.
Williams will return to King’s Landing the same way we all will on August 21: by watching House of the Dragon, HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel.
Williams revealed to LADbible that she would be watching the highly anticipated spin-off, saying, “I will be watching House of the Dragon. I’m looking forward to it tremendously. I am impatient.
She continued, “I’m quite intrigued. It will be lovely to see a Game of Thrones episode in which I am not involved and simply lose myself in it. I’m ecstatic.”
Williams was promoting her new Disney+ series Pistol alongside co-star Thomas Brodie-Sangster, a production she credited with teaching her “the best acting lesson she will ever learn.”
The 25-year-old actress portrays Pamela Rooke in the miniseries directed by Danny Boyle. Under the name Jordan, Rooke became a punk rock star in London, and Maisie was fortunate enough to meet the pioneer before her death at age 66 this year.
Williams observed of Jordan, “She is a rare, rare woman. She was very genuine. “It is extremely rare to encounter people who aren’t projecting falseness as a cover for who they truly are.
HBO Cancelled Prequel To Game Of Thrones After Spending $30 Million On Pilot
HBO canceled a prequel to Game of Thrones after spending $30 million ($22.5m) on the pilot episode.
In his book Tinderbox: HBO’s Ruthless Pursuit of New Frontiers, former WarnerMedia chairman Bob Greenblatt discussed what transpired in detail with James Andrew Miller.
Greenblatt said: “When I arrived, they had already spent over $30 million on a Game of Thrones prequel pilot that was in production.
“And when I saw a cut of it a few months after my arrival, I told Casey [Bloys, HBO’s chief content officer]: ‘This doesn’t work, and I don’t believe it fulfills the promise of the original series.’ The fact that he did not disagree was actually a relief.
“We are very sorry to say that we have made the decision to abandon the project. There was a lot of pressure on everyone to do it right, and I don’t believe it would have been successful.
It was said that the canceled prequel series would have taken place “thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones.” Naomi Watts was supposed to feature in the series.
The following is an excerpt from the series’ synopsis: “The series portrays the world’s slide from the Golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour.”
“And there is only one thing that can be said with absolute certainty: from the horrible secrets of Westeros’ history and the real birth of the White Walkers to the mysteries of the East and the Starks of legend, it is not the story that we believe we know.”
Despite the fact that this particular series was canceled, another prequel called House of the Dragon followed in its wake and is scheduled to be published in the following year.
