Ella Mai began her music career in 2014 after enrolling in college (BIMM London). In the same year, she founded the trio Arize and competed in the eleventh season of the British reality music competition The X Factor.
However, her group was unable to get past the preliminary auditions, and the band disbanded shortly thereafter.
