It has been announced that Cameron Diaz will come out of retirement to co-star in a forthcoming original film produced by Netflix opposite Jamie Foxx (which some of us at The Verge apparently never got the memo on).

The new movie, which will be called Back in Action, was previewed by Foxx in a tweet that included an audio chat that he, Diaz, and Tom Brady had during Brady’s brief hiatus from football, which lasted for a total of forty days.
In a press release, Netflix reveals very little about the next picture, other than the fact that it will be an action-comedy and that Seth Gordon, who previously helmed Horrible Bosses, would be producing it as well as writing and directing it.
Both Central Intelligence’s Beau Bauman and Neighbors’ Brendan O’Brien are contributing to the writing of the script.
Central Intelligence’s Beau Bauman will act as a producer. Netflix has stated that the film’s idea will be kept “under wraps” and that production on the film will begin later on in this year.

The most recent time we saw Diaz was in the remake of Annie from 2014, which also starred Foxx. Both actors have previous experience working together, having appeared in the 1999 drama Any Given Sunday.
