Ponniyin Selvan, also known as PS-I, is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language epic period drama film that will be directed and co-produced by Mani Ratnam, under his production studio Madras Talkies, along with Allirajah Subaskaran under the banner Lyca Productions.
Ponniyin Selvan will be dubbed in English as “Ponniyin Selvan.” It is the first of two film adaptations that are based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s novel Ponniyin Selvan, which was published in 1955. Ratnam, along with Elango Kumaravel and B. Jeyamohan, is responsible for the script of the movie.

The narrative begins with Vallavaraiyan Vandiyadevan and describes his exciting travels. Through him, the majority of characters in the film are introduced. Queen Nandini, the wife of Chola Army Commander Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar, embarks on a quest to eliminate Aditya Karikalan and aid her husband’s ascension to the throne.
Vandiyadevan is tasked with bringing prince Arulmozhivarman from Sri Lanka to rescue the crown, while Arulmozhivarman uncovers various mysteries regarding the ministers’ and Nandini’s conspiracy plot.
