Hayden Panettiere Discusses Her Prior Struggles With Addiction!
Actress Hayden Panettiere has opened out about her struggle with addiction, which she claims caused her to struggle when she was at the pinnacle of her career.
Panettiere, who is now 32 years old, has been a mainstay on television for over a decade, beginning in 2006, when she was cast in a role that catapulted her to prominence on NBC’s “Heroes.”
She then went on to star opposite Connie Britton in the country music drama “Nashville,” a period that she describes as “difficult years” in a recent interview with People magazine.
“A lot of those storylines, like the alcoholism and the postpartum depression, were ones that I could connect to.
They were really personal in nature, “she stated in the publication. She admitted that, in addition to her issues with alcohol consumption, she also struggled with opiate addiction.
She explained that the fact that I couldn’t be untidy while I was working on set was her “saving grace.”
“However, the situation continued to spiral out of control. And as I got older, the drugs and alcohol became things that I nearly couldn’t do without in order to survive.”
She eventually found herself in the hospital, where the medical staff warned her that her liver was “about to give out.” According to what she said to People, “I was in a spiral of self-destruction.”
Panettiere, who is at peace and optimistic about the future after spending eight months in a rehabilitation center and participating in various other trauma and inpatient therapies, has a 7-year-old daughter with her former partner, the Ukrainian former professional boxer Wladimir Klitschko.
Panettiere and Klitschko share custody of their daughter. She remarked, “I put a lot of work into myself, and I had to be willing to be extremely honest.” “I had to be willing to be incredibly honest.”
She will shortly be reprising her role in an upcoming installment of the “Scream” film series. Panettiere also established a relief fund for people fighting for the defense of Ukraine several months ago. Vitali Klitschko, Klitschko’s brother, is currently serving as the Mayor of Kyiv.
