It had been a while since we’d heard significant Shadow and Bone news, but Geeked Week 2022 altered all that in early June 2022.
Last year, Shadow and Bone kicked off the celebration with news of renewal and the introduction of numerous new cast members.
At this year’s Geeky Week, we learned that production on the second season has concluded!
Netflix provided us with an endearing cast video with numerous fan-favorite cast members interacting with Geeked Week viewers about what to expect from season 2, their characters’ experiences, and fun rapid-fire questions.
How Many Seasons Are There of Shadow and Bone?
There is currently only one season of the series available on Netflix.
There is a great deal of potential for additional seasons of Shadow and Bone on Netflix, so stay tuned for updates on upcoming seasons.
Shadow and Bone Second Season Premiere Date
We had hoped for a release date of 2022 for the second season of Shadow and Bone, but with production beginning in January 2022, the situation is quite problematic.
It will be quite near. The second season of Shadow and Bone could premiere around the holiday season of 2022. Netflix always releases a major science fiction or fantasy series around the holidays. Could season 2 of Shadow and Bone be that show?
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the second season of Shadow and Bone will premiere in 2022. Again, it is conceivable, but it will be close.
Due to the likelihood that the second season would be slightly longer than the first, post-production may take longer than it did the first time around, complicating a probable 2022 release date.
Unfortunately, we must begin to face the prospect that the second season of Shadow and Bone may not arrive on Netflix until 2023. The second season of Shadow and Bone will premiere on Netflix no earlier than December 2022.
They will require a minimum of six months for post-production. If not, we will have to wait until the spring or summer of 2023 to view the new season.

We must anticipate that nearly all of the characters from Shadow and Bone will return for season 2, meaning the whole ensemble should return. The anticipated Shadow and Bone season 2 cast is listed below.

The End of Shadow and Bone season 1.
At the conclusion of the first season of Shadow and Bone, Alina, Mal, Zoya, and the Crows defeated the Darkling.
Except for Zoya, they all boarded a ship that was leaving Ravka for different areas of the world, where they would remain hidden for as long as possible. She embarks on her own.
We also observe that the Darkling did not perish within the Shadow Fold. Instead, he emerges from the Fold accompanied by Shadow warriors. YIKES!
Shadow and Bone, Season 2 Plot Summary
Netflix has not yet released the official synopsis for the upcoming season, but we have a solid sense of what to expect. We anticipate that Shadow and Bone will follow in the footsteps of Leigh Bardugo’s other Grishaverse novels.
In the second season of Shadow and Bone, Alina and Mal will likely be on the run from the Darkling, who desires Alina’s power and revenge.
The Crows will be called upon for one of the greatest robberies in history. In the upcoming season, we will also meet some new and significant characters.
