Thor: Love and Thunder is a 2022 American superhero film produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures based on the Marvel Comics character Thor.
It is the sequel to 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok and the 29th installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Jennifer Kaytin Robinson and Taika Waititi co-wrote the screenplay for the film.

A portion of the answer to this question can be found in the film’s trailer. Thor reflects on his decisions as he says “These hands were formerly employed in combat. Now they are merely humble instruments of peace,” and he declares, “I must determine who I am.”
In the forthcoming film, this exact scenario will play out. Thor was seeking a new purpose. It is quite a natural premise for the God of Thunder, who has undergone a significant transformation over the course of his film appearances.
Since his introduction as a haughty, bloodthirsty prince, he has gone from proving himself worthy of Mjolnir to battling Thanos to preserve Earth. On his journey, Thor lost his mother, father, and brother Loki (while a variant of the demigod exists in the multiverse, he perished in Thor’s timeline).
During the events of Endgame, we see him drinking, playing video games, and growing a dad bod, which was enough to send him into the darkness. Thor: Love and Thunder begin. Thor undergoes a change and regains his physical form.
As he starts on a new voyage, which involves reconnecting with his roots and running into his ex-girlfriend, he will encounter new adventures.

Thor Gave Up His Crown, And Valkyrie Is The King Of New Asgard
Fans may recall that Asgard was destroyed in Thor: Ragnarok when Thor fought his sister Hela. Those Asgardians who escaped the cataclysm have now established New Asgard on Earth.
Thor, who has questioned his leadership skills since Thor: The Dark World, eventually relinquishes the position. Here, Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie assumes her role as Asgard’s king.
As hinted in the teaser, Love and Thunder will transport us to New Asgard and feature Valkyrie as a modern diplomat. With a new threat looming courtesy of Gorr the Godslayer, she will don her armor once more.
