What is the Gray Man’s Storyline?
While the information on “The Gray Man” has been kept largely under wraps, Mark Greaney’s book provides a significant amount of insight. We will not reveal the novel’s conclusion here, so have no fear.
Court Gentry, alias Sierra Six, aka The Gray Man, is a former CIA agent who is an absolute badass.
Similar to Ethan Hunt and James Bond, Six (as he will be called frequently in the film) is the finest at what he does and is possibly the best assassin in the world, with the agency authorizing his deaths.
Six discovers some filthy truths within the CIA and finds himself on the run from Lloyd Hansen, as is typical in such situations.
Hansen formerly served as an officer for the CIA but is currently employed by a dubious French group.
Hansen and his accomplices comply with the president of Nigeria’s request to execute Six (who had previously killed the president’s brother) in order to keep a good relationship for a big oil transaction.
The official synopsis for “The Gray Man” focuses solely on Six’s flight from Hansen, but it’s safe to assume that the Nigerian backstory will be woven into the plot.
